What comes out matters

Clean water. Clear answers.

Built to reduce what you don’t want in your glass. Here is what the Headwater is designed to filter.

  1. Less PFOA and PFOS

Two chemicals in the PFAS family that the Headwater is designed to reduce.

  2. Less chlorine taste and smell

For a glass that tastes fresh, from the tap you already use.

  3. Cyst reduction

Tiny forms of parasites, such as Giardia, that can be found in water.

Why a bird?

A little bird. A good reminder.

The dipper dives into cold, fast streams to find its food. Water is its whole world.

It is a good reminder for us, too. Water is part of how we cook, care and gather. We believe making it better should feel simple.

That is why Dipper pairs a filter built in the USA with clear facts and help from real people. Good water should feel right at home.

Fits your life

Less work. More water.

No pitcher to fill. No machine on the counter. Just a filter doing its job below the sink.

  1. Connect it.

The Headwater connects to the cold water line under your sink. Check your space and fittings before you order.

  2. Turn on your tap.

Use your current faucet for filtered cold water. Fill a glass, a pot or your favorite bottle.

  3. Keep it fresh.

Plan for a new cartridge about every six months, or when you reach 500 gallons. Replace sooner if needed.

Good questions

Get to know your next filter.

A few straight answers before you bring it home.

Hands beside a glass of water at a kitchen tap
What does it filter?

The Headwater is designed to reduce PFOA and PFOS, chlorine, taste, odor and cysts. PFOA and PFOS are two PFAS chemicals. It does not remove every PFAS chemical or make unsafe water safe to drink.

Will it fit my kitchen?

It uses your current cold water faucet and standard 3/8-inch compression fittings. Allow about 3.5 inches in width and 12 inches in height, plus room to change the cartridge. Check your plumbing and cabinet space first.

How often do I change the filter?

Plan for about six months or 500 gallons, whichever comes first. The amount of water you use and what is in it can shorten that time. Change it sooner if the flow slows.

Is it a water softener?

No. It is a carbon filter, not a water softener. It is not designed to remove hard-water minerals or fluoride.

Can I use it on well water?

Have your well water tested first. The Headwater is not a disinfectant and does not make unsafe water safe to drink. Share your test with our team to check whether it fits your needs.

Can I get help before I buy?

Yes. Send us a note through our contact page. We can help you check your space, fittings and filter needs before you choose.
